Papers at the 12th Tianshan earthquake symposium
Papers on induced seismicity and the seismicity of the Dzhungar-Boro-Khoro region, plus field work in the Manas earthquake zone.

The Institute of Seismic Safety was represented by its director R. A. Gashimov and chief researcher A. T. Danabayeva, PhD in geology and mineralogy. Zhengis Bekasyl, backend and ML engineer at AG Digital KZ, also took part.
What the institute presented

- R. A. Gashimov — identifying industrial explosions and mining-induced collapses for short-term analysis of seismic activity at ore deposits in Kazakhstan.
- A. T. Danabayeva — seismicity of the Dzhungar-Boro-Khoro region.
- A field trip to the epicentral zone of the 1906 Manas earthquake: active tectonics, seismogenic deformations and traces of one of the largest historical earthquakes of the Tianshan.

What came of it
The symposium has been held since 1992, hosted in turn by the China Earthquake Administration and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan. Eleven meetings have taken place in Almaty and Urumqi — the 12th continued that line.
A. T. Danabayeva received a certificate of completion for the China–Central Asia workshop on earthquake prevention and disaster reduction technologies, run by the Institute of Geology of the China Earthquake Administration.
The visit strengthened scientific ties with Chinese researchers studying the seismicity and seismic safety of the Tianshan region.
